About Red Spinach
There is a parlor grand that I really love to play on. It’s old, and some of its keys are chipped and discolored. Someone had at one time spilled something on one of the F-sharp strings and it got corroded and had to be replaced. Now that string sounds somewhat off, a touch stranger sounding than the rest. You know what? It really adds to the character of the piano. It will never sound like a Steinway, but it is somehow inspiring and fun to play on. It’s easy to lose yourself when seated in front of this piece of furniture and just playing. That’s the certain something that I want to try to capture with the instruments that I’m designing and creating.
Red Spinach is my small dream from the corner of my world. A tiny step to do something different and a leap of faith after years of wondering if it is possible to start a small independent software company to design and make instruments and creative tools. It has been a long journey and I know I have many shortcomings but as a follower of Jesus Christ the hope is to try to do it with as much integrity, grace and humility as possible.
